Kolkata: West Bengal Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee will resume his two-month-long Jono Sanjog Yatra (Mass Outreach Programme) as part of Trinamoole Nabo Jowar on Monday from Bankura from where he had to cut short his Cooch Behar to Kakdwip yatra following CBI summon to appear before the Investigation Officials on Saturday in regard to the alleged teachers’ recruitment scam in State Government-aide schools.
After facing the marathon grilling by the CBI at Nizam Palace for nine and half hours, Banerjee said the net result of the whole exercise was a “big zero” and that it was a “complete waste of time” for both him and the agency, adding, ” The BJP is so petrified of Trinamoole NaboJowar’s success that it has weaponised the CBI to hinder our campaign. ”
The party said, ” They’ve cooked up this conspiracy to harass Abhishek but, if they think this will deter us, they’re gravely mistaken. ”

In a letter to the CBI, Banerjee said, “At the very onset, I state that I am rather shocked to find that the notice under reference was served upon me on 19.05.2023 in the afternoon, directing me to appear before your office at Kolkata at 11.00 am on 20.05.2023, providing me less than a day’s time to comply. ”
It might be mentioned that Banerjee had filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court challenging Calcutta High Court Justice Amrita Sinha’s order on May 18 ruling out his plea against Justice Abhijit Ganguly’s order allowing the ED and CBI to question him.
The case will be taken up in the Supreme Court on Monday.
