CBI arrests sr Auditor among 4 in bribery case in Delhi

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested four people including a Senior Auditor and Data Entry Operator , both working in the Accounts Office of CDA (Navy), Visakhapatnam in an alleged a bribery case.

A case was registered against the accused on the allegations of bribery. It was alleged that the Senior Auditor, identified as Telikicherla Ramana Kumar, had asked the Contractor to pay Rs 26,000 for clearing his pending bills amounting to Rs 26 lakh, CBI said.

It was further alleged that the said Contractor sent an amount of Rs 26,000 through his representative for the accused.

CBI laid a trap and caught both accused, Senior Auditor and Data Entry Operator, while allegedly accepting the bribe of Rs 26,000 and also the representative of Contractor while paying the bribe. Later, the Contractor was also caught, it said.

Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused which led to the recovery of certain incriminating documents.

All the four arrested accused were produced before the Court of Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, Visakhapatnam and remanded to 14 days Judicial Custody, it added.
