Bhubaneswar: Hours before leaving for Bhubaneswar to launch the Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana, a scheme aimed at women’s empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the initiative would enhance women’s empowerment and ensure financial independence for Nari Shakti.

Taking to his official X handle on Tuesday, the Prime Minister announced that he would soon arrive in Odisha. “Leaving for Bhubaneswar. It is very special to be among the wonderful people of Odisha to launch the Subhadra Yojana, an important scheme by the Odisha Government,” Modi said.

He further added, “This scheme will boost women’s empowerment and ensure financial independence for our Nari Shakti. Several other projects will also be launched during the program.”

The Prime Minister reiterated, “It is very special to be among the wonderful people of Odisha to launch Subhadra Yojana, an important scheme by the Odisha Government. This initiative will enhance women’s empowerment and ensure financial independence for Nari Shakti.”

Elaborate security measures have been put in place for Modi’s visit to Odisha, with the deployment of 81 platoons of police force in the state capital. The Commissionerate Police has imposed traffic restrictions in light of the Prime Minister’s visit.

Expecting a large gathering at Janata Maidan, the venue for the launch of Subhadra Yojana—an ambitious women’s empowerment scheme by the Odisha government—the police issued a traffic advisory restricting movement on various routes from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

The Odisha government has already declared the closure of all educational institutions in the capital city and announced a half-day holiday for government offices in Bhubaneswar.

In addition to launching the Subhadra Yojana, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones for and dedicate several welfare projects, including railway and National Highway projects.

According to official sources, Modi is expected to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 10:50 hours, after which he will head straight to Gadkana village to interact with the beneficiaries of the PM Aawas Yojana.

He is then scheduled to proceed to Janata Maidan at around 11:50 hours, where he will launch the Subhadra Yojana and lay the foundation stones for several other projects before returning to New Delhi.

Tuesday also marks Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The government has arranged several dance performances by tribal groups along the route to welcome him.

The routes from Biju Patnaik International Airport to Janata Maidan, along with several other key areas, have been decorated and illuminated to welcome the Prime Minister.
